    • @FirstDayofHome
      @FirstDayofHome 12 днів тому

      I didn’t have to do anything because the pieces are embedded in the grout. You could probably sand the edges a bit if you find they are very sharp. Using gloves helps when you’re handling the pieces before applying grout. I hope this helps!

    This is my first proper machine sewing project! Won’t would you recommend to prevent fraying on the sides of the bag proper if I don’t have bias tape? Should I just fold over and zigzag stitch each side of the bag before I sew them together, like you did on the sides of the small pocket?

    • @FirstDayofHome
      @FirstDayofHome 15 днів тому

      I’m excited for you to complete your first project! 🙌🏼 Yes, a zigzag stitch can help prevent fraying. I do that often when I’m joining two edges without bias tape. You can also use a product called Fray Check to help prevent fraying. I use them as stickers in a journal and stickers to give to others, as shown at the end of the video. If the paddle is made of wood, yes it should let you engrave. It should be similar to the cutting board that I engraved. If the paddle is long, you can use the wooden risers instead of the riser base to fit the paddle underneath. I hope this helps!

    • @FirstDayofHome
      @FirstDayofHome Місяць тому

      I don’t worry about it in the oven because it’s not touching anything that will later come into contact with food. I use foil pans to recharge in the oven, and I only use those with silica gel. That said, you should only do it if you’re comfortable with the product. I always follow the manufacturer directions. The reason I don’t use the plastic for food afterwards is because the plastic can absorb pesticides that might be in some flowers if you buy them in a store.

    Excellent work, can we use mod podge matt, which result is better? And for background painting we can use acrylic paints?

    • @FirstDayofHome
      @FirstDayofHome Місяць тому

      This image transfer medium is specifically meant for photo transfer, so you may not get the same results with Mod Podge Matte. Yes, acrylic paints would be great for background painting. That’s what I use. Hope this helps!

    What do I do when I’ve rubbed the photos with wet cloth and when it dries it’s clouded and like it still needs be rubbed more? What do I do?

    • @FirstDayofHome
      @FirstDayofHome Місяць тому

      I’ve had that happen too. You can go over it again with a damp cloth or sponge. Just press the damp cloth down to let the surface absorb some moisture and then gently rub. Be careful not to rub too hard or the photo will start to come up. It helps to work in small sections. I hope this helps!

      Ha! Have you given it a try? I’d like to do it again since I have tiles and grout leftover. Doing more than one helps since there’s a little learning curve.

    I haven't used anything like this before but interested in it for making dye sub glass coasters and chopping boards. Is glass one of the material categories in the app?

    • @FirstDayofHome
      @FirstDayofHome Місяць тому

      Yes, as long as your glass item is smaller than the heat press, you can reach temperatures up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, which is great for sublimating on glass. The Heat Guide or Cricut Heat app don’t specifically have a setting for glass, but you can manually enter the temp and time you’d like in the app based on your sublimation material. I hope this helps!

    Pretty . Can we use regular sand?

    • @FirstDayofHome

      Thank you. No, sand won’t work the same as silica gel. I have the product linked in the video description if you need help finding it. Enjoy!
